Back to Canada..and the real world.

It was the morning of departure, and they were not nearly ready to ‘be ready’, physically or emotionally .   Little had been accomplished when they got back to the room the previous night.   They had to leave the hotel by 10:00 a.m. for the airport, and that meant eating downstairs was not really an option.  Last order of business before turning out the lights the night before,  had been to arrange for a room service breakfast.     Tom was getting a rib sticking meal to last the day and Kodi was after protein, so they ordered a half carafe of OJ, oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, a side of toast, and ham and eggs.  Kodi of course had her room coffee.  The meal was supposed to come at 7:00 a.m.   At 7:15 they  called down to room service, which wasn’t answering.  Stress…. At 7:20 they tried again.  Thankfully, the order WAS coming, but had been delayed because they were unexpectedly two employees short that day. 😏   The food arrived at 7:40, and was very tasty…and Kodi neede

Looks CAN be deceiving….   “Tom, hurry up and make my coffee…two   cups please...   I’m still working on getting both legs off the bed. Ow, ow, ow.   Thanks.   Why don’t you have your shower, while I let the double dose of Advil kick in, and then I have to try to get my clothes out of the suitcase, before I get ready.   “ By the time Tom was dressed, Kodi could limp around rather effectively, and had stopped complaining every time she stood on her right leg.  Things would be good, if she had  him at her left side to grab onto if necessary, and if the inflammation subsided a little . She needed to get home, and take meds for a few days and use a recliner and heating pads, and all this crap would settle down as usual.  She just needed to hang in there. 😊 The reliable Kiddo Kab was right on time, and pulled up in the lane they were expecting this time.  Their driver, who seemed to have a built in compass in her head quickly figured out the best way to get to the Cosmopolitan, but now

A Happy Hour date and , whose birthday is it anyway?

Sunday morning, they woke up to another beautiful day in the desert.  Kodi limped over to the window and stood there trying to figure out what was setting her occasionally cranky right hip off.  When she’d tried to get into bed the night before, She had to lift her leg up onto the bed with both hands, whimpering while she did so. She hadn’t been walking much, or using many stairs,  which could cause the problem, she knew. Maybe it was the seats in the movie theatre…they were very comfortable but she’d had to get up and down multiple times because of popcorn lady and her entourage.  It may have been just sitting in the various slot chairs, or standing in lines, or using the low toilet in the room.  Whatever  caused it, she wasn’t able to put her full weight on it without considerable pain. Time for a 12 hour Advil and a prayer…and extra coffees with Baileys. 😉 She wasn’t really hungry, so she suggested that Tom head downstairs to eat and she’d take her time in the room, having a shower
