Kodidog’s Adventures

  Leaving the Strip behind and unfinished,   and heading Over There… Laying in bed on April 21st, Kodi was thoughtful.  While on the Strip, she’d hoped to get to Ross to shop, and the PepperMill restaurant on the same day…to the Venetian/Palazzo, because she loved walking around there, and eating at Grand Luxe, to Ellis Island for their wonderful ribs, to play Glow in the Dark Golf at Bally’s, visit the new Pinball Hall of Fame, and a couple of other places.  She hadn’t had the energy to do any of that, which shocked and dismayed her.  She’d still enjoyed the things she did, but….the ‘old days’ were certainly gone. One thing remained the same though.  When she could see the last days of her current trip winding down, she got pretty sad! Kodi was awake before Tom the next morning, and when Tom stretched, yawned and looked over at her, Kodi said “Damn you!” “Whaaa? “ he stammered. “What are you talking about?” “ I came up last night expecting to shower you with hundred dollar bills and you were dead to the world” “ You actually won something!  How much?” “Well, just OVER  $500, but that’s how much went into the Take Home Envelope.” “Excellent.  What’s on the agenda for today?” “We have another MyVegas reward to use, so we’re going to have a late brunch at Luxor.  We have a  2/1 buffet coupon.” “Great!  I’ve been missing buffets.  What time?” “ I’m still full from last night, and I was thinking of eating at around 1 p.m.  so leaving here at Noon.  I’ll get a coffee or two at the machines this morning. Tuesday morning, they stayed in the room for a while, and after Tom drank his orange juice , he headed down to Earl of Sandwich and grabbed a ham and Swiss for himself and a Tuna Melt for Kodi. They both had nearly full bottles of water they had brought up to the room the night before, and put into the little included fridge, with the juice.   It was a satisfying if different kind of breakfast. Today they were just going to wander around the mall, and play in the casino .  Kodi was weary and they had plans to go out around dinner time.  She had wanted to go to Harrahs to see Big Elvis this trip..as she always tried to watch him perform him at least once every trip if she was staying on the Strip.   He had recently lost a considerable amount of weight, and had also been unable to perform for 5 months because of long Covid, coming back to work just a couple of weeks before.
